Now, we are involved in the electronic entertainment and television industries. We are a mainstay on the Internet and plan to expand even further... wherever our imaginations take us.

Mood and Theme

Mages must constantly struggle with the fact that they possess near god-like power in a simple mortal shell. How do they cope with humanity? How do they cope with themselves? Is their morality greater than their lust for power?

Themes presented here will be focused on choice and understanding of what motivates ones character to act.

Venue Rules

NERE Awakening uses all White Wolf books and secondary resources described as sanctioned within the Camarilla Global Addenda. NERE Awakening makes use of the base Camarilla Global Addenda. Any alterations, additions, or removals from these addenda will be detailed below.

Proxy:

Proxied PCs will not be accepted in this venue. Additionally, PCs must gain Venue Lead approval to be simultaneously present both in the jurisdiction of the convention storytelling staff and outside of it.

Characters that come into the game with effects cast on them by other characters will be required to provide the name of the casting character, the name and contact information for the player of the casting character and the name and contact information of the ST who supervised the casting; this information should be provided at NERE check-in. All such effects must also be provided to and approved by the Lead Venue ST before the characters upon whom such effects are cast may enter play. To speed this process along, Contact the ST no later then July 1st, 2009.

SUPPLEMENTARY STYLE INFORMATION:

Custom Rotes, Legacy attainments, or items may only be used if accompanied by a copy of the printed approval page from the database detailing the exact approved mechanics of the Rote, Legacy, or item in question.

NERE Awakening makes use of all rules and errata found in the Camarilla Global Addenda. The following are rules that will be in effect at NERE Awakening that are not found in the Global Addenda:

PRE CAST SPELLS:

Pre-cast spells will run as per Awakening MET in accordance with Spell Control with the following additional restrictions:

  • Effects cast by characters not attending the event are not permitted to have any effect while a character is attending NERE 2009.

  • Characters may not enter play with more spells affecting them than their Spell Tolerance, regardless of who cast them.

  • All Vulgar effects will be assumed to have been cast immediately at the beginning of game, and all Paradox draws (modified as normal) must be made at that time and the results applied normally.

  • In addition in the interest of speed of play, “pre-casting” rules will be as follows: Each Mage character may hang their spells from a pool of successes. This pool is determined by their Resolve multiplied by Gnosis divided by two. This pool will have a minimum of 5 and a maximum size of 10.

MANA:

  • Starting Mana for all characters (Awakened and Sleepwalkers) is calculated as follows: 4 + (Wisdom dots) + (Hallow dots) – (Mana Leak) – (Mana for Pre-Cast Effects) = Starting Mana

  • Additional mana must be gained and may be lost through in-game actions

  • Items with a mana pool start game with [5 + (Wisdom dots)] mana

  • Characters may carry Tass with them to game, but that Tass must be listed on their character sheet separate from their personal or item-based Mana pools. Characters are limited to no more than their Wisdom dots in available Tass at the start of game. Acquiring more Tass (through magic or otherwise) is possible during the convention, but must be approved by a Storyteller.
