NERE Thank Yous and Info

July 23rd, 2009 by Nikki Hauser

Can I say thank you for a wonderful event folks!
Numbers first, then a very large thank you.

We had 176 folks in attendance.
The charity auction alone raised $18, 721
Charity total garnered $19,158 (+ the amount from the NERE 2k9 tshirts)

This amount would not have been reached without the hard work of our Charity Lead, Rachel.

Please, let her know that what she guided us in accomplishing was/is awesome.

To the event staff (coord and st) as a whole, thank you for giving of yourself and truly showing what "All In" means.

Hotel & Pre-registration Reminder!

Please pre-reg for NERE at the White Wolf website (please note that each Camarilla member must register and pay separately because of the change in the White Wolf store interface). Also, don't forget to get your hotel room at the Sheraton Bradley. Rooms are just $89 / night with up to four people.

Transportation from the airport is easy because the hotel is attached right to the International Airport near Hartford, Connecticut. This makes travel to the first con after reset a breeze from anywhere in the world!

NERE & You!

June 15th, 2009 by Nikki Hauser

Greetings and Salutations from your wandering NCA.  I have news of NERE from my current location of southern Ohio.

  • The room block has filled.  What does this mean for you?
It means I have called and added 15 more rooms to our block.  The sooner you reserve your room, the easier it will be for our hotel contact to add rooms to the block.  It is easier to add now rather than later (please wait until after 2pm EDT to call, to allow the computer system to be updated). You can find all the info you need here: http://nere.jyhad.net/
  • Pre reg yourself if you haven't already.
The link is here: http://store.white-wolf.com/Camarilla-North-East-Regional-Event-P5588.aspx $25 pre reg price is better than $35 at the door!
  • We'd love to see your face in the crowd in CT in mid- July!

Charity Donations

June 4th, 2009 by Rachel Sankersingh

Hokay. I realize the reset is bumming folks out,  and the economy sucks right now. Donations for NERE charities are really low, and its 6 weeks away.   I've shot an email out last night, and got a couple of really great responses. So, I'm asking here  as well:  the charity is  Harry and Helen Grey Cancer Center. They do amazing things for people that wouldn't normally have access to it.

Anyone can fill out the Charity Donation Form, it doesn't matter what region, or national affiliate you are from - your help is greatly appeciated. So please think about what you can give, and hit me up.

SUGGESTIONS:

  • awesome OOC items, Jewelry, Books, Clothes
  • Cool Bloodline Avus'
  • Awesome ties and interactions
  • Cool Props with IC Significance
  • Plot Cookies and access to plot
  • Help & Services (Keep it clean, guys!)
  • Rituals
  • Hedgespun Items, Artifacts, Spoiling Potions, etc.
  • Access to Lodges
  • Access to Entitlements
  • Access to Legacies
  • Membership in Motley, Coterie, Cabal, Pack
  • Historical Ties of cool significance.

Your creativity and generosity is needed and appreciated. Thanking you for helping make the convention successful.

Blood Donation Pre-registration

May 8th, 2009 by Mike Kitchenman

In an attempt to get some more events taking place at NERE this summer, I've been speaking with the local CT Chapter of the Red Cross to help arrange a blood drive to take place at the hotel for us during the convention!

We are currently in negotiation for a drive taking place Friday, July 17th, in the morning to early afternoon (10A-3P.)

To help secure this, they are requesting a tentative list of names of members who would be interested in donating blood at the drive. Please fill out the survey below to help us out with this short 3 question survey that'll only take two minutes to complete. Please help us out with it!

Thanks!

OOC Programming Survey

April 30th, 2009 by Jason Schneiderman

Everyone loves surveys, right? All those lovely ticky-boxes. This survey is about OOC programming at Cam cons ‹ specifically at NERE 2009, but also as a topic of general interest. The answers received will help me to shape the OOC track, and can be passed along and used as a reference by future con leads. To take the survey, head to the following site:

I hope everyone is well and ready for a great NERE 2009.

In order to make this convention a phenomenally good time, we need volunteers. The Storytellers office is currently seeking assistance for both Red and White team in all venues. White Team focus more on narration, card-pulls, etc. for both side plots and PC-initiated plots.

To make your email browsing easier, our current needs are listed here:

Red Team: NEED 2; Prefer 4
White Team: NEED 2-3

Forsaken
Red Team: NEED 2; Prefer 4
White Team: NEED 2-3

Lost
Red Team: NEED 5; Prefer 7
White Team: NEED 3-4

Requiem

If you’ve ever thoughts about Storytelling but were unsure where to start, this is a great way to get your feet wet. You will be part of a team for support, and still be contributing a unique and vital element to the convention as a whole.

Please send your interest letter as follows:

To: nearestcos@gmail.com <mailto:nearestcos@gmail.com>
Subject: Volunteer letter – ST NERE 2009

Announcement - NERE 2009: New Leads and Website Info

February 3rd, 2009 by Trish Pettinati

Evening, everyone!

Due to an unforeseen delay, I haven't been able to get this email out as quickly as I would have liked. Without further ado, however, your remaining Leads for NERE 2009 are:

Charities - Rachel Sankersingh
Floor Coordinator - Linda Ballance
Vendors - Aaron Fisher
Volunteers - Wendy Misuinas

You may notice that Local Information/Transportation is not listed as a NERE Lead Position. After consultation with the NE RC, Liz Misamore, and the NCA, Nikki Hauser, it has been decided that, due to the proximity of the hotel and city in which NERE is going to be held to the RC and myself (as well as several other Leads on staff), the need for a Local Information/Transportation Lead is not strictly necessary.

All local info on our site and the surrounding area will be included on our website and announced on official email lists in a timely manner. Should anyone have questions regarding this decision, please contact me via khourytamarisk@gmail.com and I will answer your inquiries.

For those who may have missed the initial announcement or the listing given in the recent NE Newsletter, the other Leads for NERE 2k9 are:

Con Second - Mike Kitchenman (a.k.a. Kitch)
OOC Registration - Diana Ruggiero
IC Registration - Ryan Coogan
Security - Phil Armstrong
Photo Team - Shuniqua Rodriguez
Hospitality - Tara Ann Pelletier
OOC Programming - Jason Schneiderman
Web/Communications/Publications - Deana Otto

For those who are wondering where the website is/when its launch will be announced, fear not. We do have the rudimentary page available for viewing at http://nere.jyhad.net . It is, of course, a work in progress, and any updates made to it will be announced far and wide. If you have difficulty viewing the site, please inform me as soon as possible, so that I or Deana can resolve the issue.

As before, I want to offer my thanks to those who have volunteered their time (and, some would say, sanity) as Leads for NERE 2009, and I look forward to working with all of them to make NERE 2k9 a grand success.

Thanks for your time, and have a great night!

Regards,

Announcement - NERE 2009 Leads

January 18th, 2009 by Trish Pettinati

NOTE: Please forward this email to your local Domain/Chapter lists. Thank you!

Hi everyone,

After reviewing and confirming the submitted applications, I would like to introduce the NERE 2009 Leads:

Con Second - Mike Kitchenman (a.k.a. Kitch)
OOC Registration - Diana Ruggiero
IC Registration - Ryan Coogan
Security - Phil Armstrong
Photo Team - Shuniqua Rodriguez
Hospitality - Tara Ann Pelletier
OOC Programming - Jason Schneiderman
Web/Communications/Publications - Deana Otto

I'm looking forward to working with all of them, and we're all going to be working hard towards providing the best NERE we can.

That said, I, unfortunately, didn't get any volunteers for the following Lead Positions:
Floor Coordinator
Local Information/Transportation
Volunteers
Charities
Vendors

As such, I'm sending out an All-Call for these positions again, and the descriptions for each can be found at the end of this email. I will be accepting applications for those positions until January 26th, 2009 at 11:59:59pm. If you're interested in helping make NERE an amazing convention, please apply. If you know someone who might be interested in applying, please encourage them to do so.

Should I not receive applications for any of the remaining Lead positions, I will be requesting assistance from the office of the NCA to find out-of-region volunteers.

If there are any questions regarding the remaining positions, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks for your time,

NERE Lead Positions All-Call

January 6th, 2009 by Trish Pettinati

Hello everyone,

First, I'd just like to say thanks to the NCA and all those involved in the selection process for giving me this opportunity and placing their trust in me.

In order to make NERE 2009 the best convention it can possibly be, I need your help.

To that end, I'm putting forth the All-Call for NERE Leads. At the end of this message, I will be listing the various positions for which I'll be accepting applications. If you think that you can contribute to the effort to make NERE amazing, please send me a Camarilla resume, including convention volunteer experience, and any relevant real world experience to khourytamarisk@gmail.com by January 15, 2009. If you want to apply for more than one Lead position, please feel free, but make sure to clearly indicate your preference.

If you intend on applying, please understand that I will be expecting regular status reports on your progress, input on the NERE 2009 list, and good turnaround time in response to queries from members (general and officer alike) in the preparatory months before the convention. I will also be relying on you at the convention itself, so please expect that some of your time during the convention will likely be earmarked for work instead of venue participation. Should you not think that you can meet the time commitments for a Lead position, we will be needing volunteers before and during NERE 2009 to make it a success, so you may want to wait on the call for volunteers (which won't be long in coming).

If you have any questions regarding a particular Lead position or NERE in general, please feel free to contact me.

Thanks for your time, and I look forward to hearing from you.

Regards,
Trish Pettinati
